Ocelots Earn Split With Monarchs

NORTHVILLE, MI – The Ocelots sat in 3rd place with the Monarchs in 2nd coming into this MCCAA doubleheader.

Game 1- Game 1 would prove to be a pitchers' duel between the 2 teams. Schoolcraft would strike first in the 3rd inning with Macomb getting the run back in the top of the 4th. The Ocelots would get the game winning run in the bottom of the 5th as the score would finish 2-1. Camryn Keough would lead the offense with 2 out of the 4 hits. Alexa Swiatkowski got the start in the circle for the Ocelots going 5 innings, allowing 0 earned runs, and striking out 4 batters. Shannon Mosesso came on and threw the last 2 innings. Mosesso would not allow a hit over the last 2 innings and strike out 2 Monarchs.

Game 2- The offense would get going right from the start in game 2. Macomb would score 2 runs in the top of the 1st before Schoolcraft would get 1 back in the bottom half. Holding Macomb over the next 2 innings would allow Schoolcraft to take a 4-2 lead after 3 innings. The score would remain that way until the top of the 7th when Macomb would plate 2 to tie the game. In extras, Macomb would score 2 and hold Schoolcraft to hand the Ocelots a 6-4 loss. Registering 8 hits in the game, Schoolcraft was led by Olivia Mikowski who would tally 2 hits. Others in the hit column would be Keough, Vanessa White, Madison Gray, Macy Collett, and Ella Hayes.

Schoolcraft is back on the diamond tomorrow, April 27, as they travel to Port Huron to take on the Skippers from St. Clair County Community College.
