Ocelots Reach Triple Digits in Their 2nd Win of the Season
LIVONIA, Mi – The Ocelots opened their home gym for the 2024-25 season hosting MCCAA foe North Central Michigan College.
It was a very slow start offensively by both teams on Saturday. Just under 4 minutes into the game, the scoreboard read 2-0 Ocelots following 2 free throws by Joshua Perkins earlier in the half. Kaden Huston and Perkins would each hit a 3 on back-to-back possessions to just out to an 8-0 lead. At the 10-minute mark of the half, Schoolcraft would lead 16-8 before it seems like a lid would be taken off the Ocelots basket. In the remaining 10 minutes of the 1st half, Schoolcraft would put up 24 points, leading 40-17. Huston would lead the Ocelots in the 1st half with 11 points, followed by Booker Washington with 8.
Offense would not come sparingly in the 2nd half. As a team, Schoolcraft would score 60 points while NCMC would improve their half with 29 points. Huston would once again lead the team with 21 points in the 2nd half, making 32 total points, and Washington would put up 11 more with Rael Cochran scoring 12 of his own.
4 Ocelots would enter double-figures, led by Huston with 32, Washington with 19, Cochran with 17 and Perkins with 13. Marshall Thorn and Washington led Schoolcraft on the glass with 7 each and Cochran led the team in the assist column with 6. As a team Schoolcraft would hoot 59% from behind the arc on their way to a 100-46 win.
Schoolcraft returns to the hardwood on Wednesday as they travel to Southwestern Michigan College to face-off with the Roadrunners (4-0).
