#4 Macomb Pulls Away from Ocelots In 2nd Half

WARREN, MI – The Ocelots opened conference play on the road against the 4th ranked team in the nation, Macomb.

Schoolcraft would come ready to play, looking to make a statement throughout the MCCAA. In the 1st half, the Ocelots would be up for the challenge, jumping out to a 12-8 lead during the first 5 minutes of play. However, over the next 10 minutes, Macomb would show why they're so highly ranked and obtain an 8-point lead. Their biggest lead of the half would be 9 points, but the Ocelots would be able to bring it down to 6 at the half. For the 1st half, J'Vohn Walker would pace the offense, soring 10 points out of the teams 34. Macomb would have a balanced offensive approach, shooting 50% without anyone reaching double digits.

In the 2nd half, it would prove to be an uphill climb attempting a comeback against the 4th ranked team. The closest Schoolcraft would get would be 6 points before Macomb would extend their lead all the way out to as many as 23 points before the final score of 90-73 in favor of Macomb.

For the game, 4 Ocelots would reach double digits with Booker Washington and Kechan Johnson, off the bench, tying for the team high with 15 points. Walker would follow closely with 14 points and Marshall Thorn would add 12.

Schoolcraft continues conference play on Wednesday with their first home conference game, against the Mott Bears coming off a win over the 8th ranked St. Clair. Tip-off is slated for 20 minutes after the women's game concludes.
