LIVONIA, MI – The Ocelots played host to the 6th ranked Pioneers from Prairie State in a non-conference affair.
The Pioneers would get off to a quick start, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes to take a 2-0 lead. The Ocelots would settle in, scoring 3 of the next 4 goals, all by Kevaughn Harris, to take the game to a 3-3 tie heading into the halftime break.
Prairie State would have a quick start in the 2nd half as well. It would take the Pioneers just 2 minutes to take the lead back, scoring in the 47th minute. Schoolcraft would once again respond, this time from Adriano Shauya, to tie the game. Schoolcraft would be unable to take the lead and Prairie State would score the next 2 goals of the game to hand Schoolcraft a 6-4 loss.
The Ocelots will look to use this early season loss like they did las year against Northeast Community College to propel them into conference and regional play. Regional play kicks off on September 6th as Schoolcraft hosts Cuyahoga, who spent some time ranked last season. Kick-off is at 2:00 PM.
