Ocelots Named MCCAA Champions

LIVONIA, Mi - The Schoolcraft College men's soccer program brought home its third straight MCCAA Championship with a 3-0 road win over fellow Region XII Division II Championship qualifier, Grand Rapids Community College, on Friday (Oct. 18). The win was the 10th of the season for the 18th ranked Ocelots (10-2-1) and maintained the team's unbeaten record in conference play at 5-0-1.

The 3-0 victory was the latest in a long line of big wins for an Ocelots team that has outscored opponents by a 68-13 margin this season (31-3 in conference play).

The 5-0-1 (16-point) league mark also helped propel the Ocelots to the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Region XII Division II Championship, a tournament the program has won twice in a row. The 16-point conference campaign resulted in a three-point edge over second place St. Clair County Community College, a team who tied the Ocelots, 2-2, on Oct. 11. Grand Rapids finished the league slate in third place with 10 points.
