Ocelots Sweep Another DH

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Ocelots looked to remain hot following their doubleheader sweep yesterday, this time with a doubleheader against Delta and USC Union. 

Game 1 (Delta)-

Kaitlyn Solberg was dominant in the circle, as the starting pitcher rang up 11 strikeouts in the Ocelots 3-1 victory over Delta College. Solberg surrendered two hits and one run over seven innings while walking one.

Delta would open the scoring in the first after a double, scoring one run. Schoolcraft would make the score 3-1 in the bottom of the third after Sydney Scoggins singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. 

Scoggins went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Leading the Ocelots offense in the win.

Game 2 (USC Union)-

Schoolcraft would take down USC Union Lady Bantams 4-2 on Tuesday marking their 2nd straight DH sweep in Myrtle Beach.

Schoolcraft got on the board in the top of the third inning after Lucy Whelan singled down the right field line, Sydney Scoggins hit a sacrifice fly, and Hailey McCleary grounded into a fielder's choice, each scoring one run.

Riley O'connell earned the win for Schoolcraft in the circle. O'Connell would give up two hits and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking two. Kaitlyn Solberg collected the save throwing 4 innings, allowing 4 hits while striking out 3 and giving up 1 unearned run. 

Whelan led the Ocelots with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff spot. Others throughout the lineup collecting hits would be, Savina Olada (1), Sydney Scoggins (1), Melanie Buzo (1), Grace Matheson (1) and Olivia Mikowski (1). 

Schoolcraft looks to extend their winning streak on Thursday as they have another split doubleheader. Game 1 of the twin-bill will be against the 14th ranked Danville Area Community College with the backend being against Lincoln Trail College.
