Schoolcraft Drops 2 Close Games To The Monarchs

WARREN, MI – The Ocelots traveled down 696 to Macomb Community College to face off against the Monarchs.

Game 1- Schoolcraft got on the board first in the 1^st inning thanks to Kaitlyn Solberg hitting her 1^st home run, scoring 2 runs. Unfortunately, the Monarchs would get their own 2-run shot in the bottom half of the inning. The Ocelots would regain the lead in the 2^nd inning with 3 runs, highlighted by an RBI double by Sydney Scoggins. Going into the bottom of the 7^th, the Ocelots would have an 8-4 lead before Macomb would plate 5 runs to walk off the Ocelots.

The team would have 11 hits, led by Scoggins, Madson Gray and Vanessa White, all with 2.

Game 2- In the 2^nd game, Schoolcraft would once again get on the scoreboard first in the top of the 1^st, once again, thanks to Solberg who would hit a 2-RBI single. The Ocelots would extend their lead to 3-1 in the top of the 3^rd with a sac-fly from Lucy Whelan. Schoolcraft would be leading 4-2 in the bottom of the 6^th before a late rally, again, would cost the Ocelots.

Schoolcraft looks to get back into the win column on Thursday as they make the quick trip to Henry Ford.
