McNitt Leads the Way As Ocelots Move to 3-0

LIVONIA, Mi – The Ocelots looked to open the season with a 3-0 record as they played host to North Central Michigan College.

Schoolcraft would jump out to a fast start in their 1st home game of the season. Just a minute and a half into the 1st quarter, Schoolcraft would lead 8-0 with 4 different Ocelots scoring points. This trend would continue throughout the 1st quarter. 5 Ocelots would score in the 1st quarter with Raegan Byrd logging 8 points, Brooklynn Vickers and Siena McNitt with 6 points, Sharon Smith with 4 and Amelia Levine scoring once off of the bench. The offense would remain hot in the 2nd quarter, once again shooting 50% from the field. Points would be spread out more throughout the roster with 8 Ocelots scoring. At the halftime break, Schoolcraft would find themselves leading 54-22 after outscoring the Timberwolves 25-18 in the 2nd quarter.

The 3rd quarter would not see Schoolcraft surpass 20 points, falling just short with 18, but the defense would stand tall only allowing 10 points while registering 10 steals, led by McNitt and Vickers with 4 each. The 4th quarter would see Schoolcraft's best offensive period, scoring 31 points whiling not turning the ball over once. Schoolcraft would force 10 turnovers on their way to outscoring NCMC 31-8 on their way to a 103-40 win.

For the game, Schoolcraft would see 3 players reach double-digits with Siena McNitt leading the way with 21 followed closely by Raegan Byrd with 19 and Brooklynn Vickers with 10.

The Ocelots hit the road again on Wednesday, looking to move to 4-0 on the season. Schoolcraft travels to Southwestern Michigan College who sits at 3-1 on the season.
