McNitt Leads the Way as Ocelots Surpass 100 Points

LIVONIA, MI – The Ocelots hosted fellow Region XII opponent in Lorain County Community College before heading on a little Thanksgiving break.

Schoolcraft would come out of the gates slow, as would Lorain, but Sharon Smith would finally break the 0-0 tie at the 2:05 mark of the 1st quarter. The defense would continue to stand tall for Schoolcraft continuing to hold the Commodores to 0 points until 5:21 remained in the 1st quarter. In the final 5 minutes of play, Schoolcraft would outscore Lorain 17-2 to take a commanding 27-8 lead after 10 minutes. Scoring would come easier in the 2nd quarter for Lorain as they would score 20 points in the frame, but Schoolcraft would all but match their point outlook from the 1st quarter by scoring 26 in the 2nd frame. Siena McNitt would be on fire from the field, in the 1st half, McNitt would log 20 points along with 6 rebounds.

The 2nd half would see Schoolcraft lock back in on the defensive end. Lorain would be held to just 13 points in the 3rd quarter and just 9 points in the final quarter. Schoolcraft's offense would remain the same by scoring 24 in the 3rd and 25 in the 4th. Sharon Smith would lead the way with 10 2nd half points to pace the offense. McNitt would log 9 more points in the half bringing her game total to 29 points.

Joining McNitt in the 20-point club would be the already mentioned Smith who would finish the game with 21 points and fall 1 rebound short of a double-double. 10 different Ocelots would log points on their way to a 102-point outburst. Tuesday's game marked the 2nd time on the young season that Schoolcraft has surpassed the 100-point threshold.

The Ocelots return to the hardwood after the holiday once again playing host to an OCCAC member. Schoolcraft will host the Hocking College Hawks on Monday, December 2nd starting at 5:30.
