Ocelots Down Chargers, Earn 9th Win of Season

LIVONIA, MI – The Ocelots played host once again to a team from Ohio, this time, the Chargers from Edison State made the trip north.

Like what we have seen from the Ocelots as of late, the team would take control in the 1t quarter and not squander it. The Ocelots would take control in the 1st quarter by outscoring the Chargers 16-6 in the frame. Brooklynn Vickers and Raegan Byrd would lead the charge in the quarter with each registering 6 points. Schoolcraft would only extend their lead in the 2nd quarter. By outscoring Edison State 22-19, Schoolcraft would find themselves with a 38-25 lead at the break. In that 2nd frame, Edison State would make their charge back into the game. At the 4:41 mark on the quarter, a mid-range jumper by the Chargers would cut the Ocelot lead to just 1. From that point on, Schoolcraft would go on a 17-5 run to close out the quarter.

The margin in the game would not get that close as Schoolcraft would lead by double digits the whole 2nd half. Out of the 20 points scored by Schoolcraft in the 3rd quarter, 7 of those would come from Siena McNitt. In the 4th quarter, Vickers would lead the way again with 5 points for the Ocelots.

McNitt would lead all Ocelot scorers with 16 points but closely followed by Mariah Scott, 15, and Vickers with 11.

Schoolcraft returns to their home floor on Saturday, playing host to the State College of New York Niagara. The ThunderWolves are the currently ranked 14th in the nation and will boast an undefeated record of 13-0. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
