LIVONIA, MI – The Ocelots women's soccer team hosted the Lakers from Lakeland Community College looking to extend their winning streak to 3 games.
The Ocelots would come out of the gate looking to make a statement. It took all but 3 minutes for Schoolcraft to get on the board, thanks to Jessica Clyde. Clyde would not be done yet. Over the next 14 minutes, Clyde would score 2 more goals, to finish off her hat-trick in just 17 minutes of play. On top of Clyde's 3 goals, the Ocelots would score 3 more times, Mattie Gyiraszin, Ashley Hughes, and Brynn Riley, on their way to a 6-0 halftime lead. In the 1st half, Schoolcraft would put up a whopping 29 shots while holding Lakeland without a shot. With the 6 goals, the Lakeland keeper would also make 11 saves in the half.
The 2nd half would see 21 more shots from the Ocelots while scoring 3 more goals. Those goals would come from Victoria Kebbe (59th minute), Kaiyah Gromadzki (81st minute), and Gyiraszin would net her 2nd goal in the 84th minute. Ava Martin got the start and win in the net without facing a shot on goal.
Schoolcraft has one tough week on the horizon. It starts on Wednesday, September 18, as they travel to Saginaw to face the #1 team in D3, Delta College.
