LIVONIA, MI – It was a Region 12 championship rematch, a game that Kellogg came out on top in extra time, and a top 20 matchup between the Ocelots and the Bruins at the Ocelot Soccer Complex.
In an anticipated matchup between the Ocelots and Bruins, the Ocelots came out ready to roll to get revenge for the Region 12 championship loss. It would take 20 minutes for Schoolcraft to get on the board, but Trista Bird was able to sneak the ball just inside the right post to put the Ocelots up 1-0. On Trista's goal, Ashley Hughes notched her 6th assist in her 4th game of the season. Outside of the goal, it was a quiet game on the offensive end for both teams with just 3 shots total, 2 by Schoolcraft and 1 by Kellogg.
The 2nd half would see more of a push on the offensive side of the ball from both teams. In the 2nd half, Schoolcraft would post 8 shots, with 2 on goal and Kellogg would post 5 shots with 3 on goal. However, only 1 shot would find the back of the net with Jessica Clyde bending in a free kick from just outside of the box in the 78th minute.
Kate Shippe got the start in net, facing 3 shots on goal and stopping all 3. Clyde led the team in shots with 7, 3 on net, with Daniela Alvarez, Bri Waranauckas and Trista Bird all recording a shot.
Schoolcraft has some time off as they do not stop foot on the field again until October 2nd when they travel to Jackson College.
