JACKSON, MI – The Ocelots hit the road heading west to square off against a Jackson Jets team who was 4-0 in conference play heading into the game.
It would prove to be a very evenly matched game right from the start. For the 1st half, the Ocelots would outshoot the Jets 6-5 while Kate Shippe would have to make 3 saves in the half to just 2 from the Jackson keeper. The lone difference in the half would come from the foot of Daniela Alvarez when she would capitalize on a PK opportunity.
The 2nd half would see the same amount of shots, just the Jets with 6 to the Ocelots 5 shots. Each keeper would be forced to make 5 saves in the 2nd half. There would be 1 lone difference, like in the 1st half. In the 64th minute, Jillian Lester of the Jets would score on an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1. That would be the last of the scoring as the game would end in a 1-1 tie.
Kate Shippe got the start in net for the Ocelots and would face 8 shots, making 7 saves.
Schoolcraft is scheduled to be back on the pitch on Friday, October 4, as they host Owen Community College.
