Ocelots Blank Express For 6th Win

LIVONIA, MI – The Ocelots played host to a D3 Region 12 opponent in the Express from Owens Community College.

Following  a disappointing tie to Jackson College, the Ocelots were to come out quick to get a bad taste out of their mouth. In the 1^st half, Schoolcraft would muster 7 sots, with the Express keeper able to keep all 7 out of the net. Meanwhile, Owens could only gather 1 shot with the 1 shot failing to be on goal.

Things would open up for both teams in the 2^nd half. Schoolcraft would almost double their shots from the 1^st half with 12 in the 2^nd half, while Owens would post 4 shots in the half. Schoolcraft would finally break the ice in the 51^st minute as Daniela Alvarez gave Schoolcraft the lead with her 7^th goal of the year. On the Alvarez goal, Jessica Clyde and Mattie Gyiraszin would each register an assist. 28 minutes later after a handful of opportunities, Jessica Clyde would extend the Ocelot lead with her 10^th goal of the season. Samantha Guciardo would notch an assist on the Clyde goal.

Kate Shippe got the start in net for Schoolcraft, stopping all 3 shots she saw on her way to her 5^th win and 2^nd shutout of the season.

Schoolcraft returns to MCCAA play on Wednesday, playing host to Lake Michigan College. Kick-off is slated for 1:00 PM.
