Ocelots Earn 4th in Golf Return

Northville, MI- The Schoolcraft College golf team made their return after a five-year hiatus in an impressive fashion.

Playing host to the first tournament of the year, it put the spotlight on the Ocelots as they were eager to return to the course. The Ocelots hosted their invitational at Salem Hills Golf Club in Northville. 

The Ocelots turned in a 328 for the round. Scoring works as teams select their "starting" five prior to the start and post round, select the best four scores from those five. The starting five for the Ocelots were Tanner Younglas, Seth Elliott, Gabe Smith (pictured), Cameron Weller, and Brendan Ware. Younglas, Elliott, Smith, and Ware would be the scoring four. 

Tanner Younglas would turn in an 83, Seth Elliott would post the best Schoolcraft round at 77, Gabe Smith would post an 85 and Brendan Ware would shoot an 83. Weller would shoot a 99.

The 328 would be good for fourth place, out of ten teams. Schoolcraft would fall just a mere four strokes out of second place, Montcalm (324). The winner, Mott CC, would post an impressive 303.
