Ocelots Falter Against Henry Ford

Detroit, MI- On Sunday (April 2), Schoolcraft squared off against the Hawks from Henry Ford College. The game would stand as the Ocelots' last nine inning game for their five game stretch.
Schoolcraft jumped out to a quick lead, posting four runs in the top half of the first inning. Henry Ford would respond with a run of their own in the bottom half to make Schoolcraft's lead 4-1 after one inning of play. The Ocelots would get back on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth thanks to #22 Nate Saavedra hitting his fifth home run of the year. Things went downhill in the bottom of the fourth as the Hawks would plate eight runners to take a 9-5 lead. They would score five more in the bottom of the sixth and would not look back. Henry Ford would win by a score of 14-9.
The leaders for the Ocelots were, #1 Sawyer Pace (2-4 with 2 RBI), #22 Nate Saavedra (2-4 with 2 RBI), and #24 Andrew Thorning (2-2 with 2 BB).
Schoolcraft returns to the diamond on Tuesday (April 4), when they play host to former division foe, Lansing Community College. Game 1 of the doubleheader is slated to start at 2:00 PM.
