Schoolcraft Can't Hold Late Lead, Loses Both at Macomb

WARREN, MI – With 2 final games in the season series with Schoolcraft and Macomb, the Ocelots were at Macomb for the final doubleheader.

Game 1 – In what would prove to be a low scoring, pitching duel affair, Carlos Plascencia would throw 6 innings, giving up 2 runs and striking out 5. Schoolcraft would hold a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th when a pop up would fall in right field with 2 outs allowing Macomb to tie the game. With Schoolcraft failing to score in the top of the 7th, a bases loaded hit by pitch would allow the walk off run to score for Macomb, defeating Schoolcraft by a score of 3-2.

Game 2 – Just like game 2 the previous day, Macomb would jump out to a lead, this time 2-0 after 1 inning. Schoolcraft would bounce back quicker though, in the top of the 2nd, the Ocelots would plate 2 runs to knot the game at 2. This cycle would happen 1 more time with Macomb scoring 2 in the bottom of the 3rd before Schoolcraft would tie the game in the top of the 4th with 2 runs. The Monarchs would pull away in the bottom of the 4th, scoring 4 runs. Those 4 runs would prove to be the difference as the final score would read 8-4.

The Ocelots have a quick turnaround as they load the bus again, tomorrow, and head to Albion College for a single 9 inning game at 4:00PM.
