Offensive Surge Leads to an Ocelot Victory

ALBION, MI – Following a weekend series, the Ocelots baseball team had a quick turnaround as they traveled west to Albion College.

Runs would prove to not be at a premium for either team over the course of 9 innings. Schoolcraft would get on the board first in the top of the 2nd with 2 runs before Albion would quickly bounce back with 3 of their own in the bottom half. Things would go quiet for the next 2 innings before things would open in the 5th. Over the last 5 innings of the game, Schoolcraft and Albion would combine for 22 runs. With a total of 10 hits, Schoolcraft would be lead by Colin Sclater with 3 knocks. Along with the 10 hits, the Ocelots would draw 10 walks, lead by 4 Ocelots, John Sowards, Abel Gutierrez, Mason Malysz and Kayvon Justice, all drawing 4.

Getting the win on the mound was Bryan Tuttle going 2 innings and allowing just 1 hit. Calbin Gonzalez got the start on the mound and would strike out 6 hitters thru just 3 innings.

Schoolcraft is back in action on Friday for another MCCAA doubleheader. The Ocelots will host the Skippers from St. Clair County Community College.
