Offense Paves The Way As Ocelots Sweep DH

PORT HURON, MI – Schoolcraft made the trip north to Port Huron to close out the season series between the Ocelots and the Skippers. 2 wins on the day for Schoolcraft would mean a season series sweep for Schoolcraft.

Game 1 – The Ocelots would get off to a quick start to open up the doubleheader. By scoring all 8 runs in the first 3 innings. It allowed the Schoolcraft pitcher, Carlos Plascencia, to pitch freely and attack the zone. Plascencia would go all 7 innings, allowing 3 earned runs, walking just 1 and striking out 7. Schoolcraft had 10 hits as a team, led by Sawyer Pace with 3. Dalton Vance and Tashawn Eatmon would both have 2 knocks.

Game 2 – A quick start would happen again for Schoolcraft. Once again, by the time the 3rd inning was over with, Schoolcraft would have an 8 up on the board. Unlike game 1, the Ocelots would put up 4 more runs over the remainder of the game. Owen Elsey and Barrett Barker would each register 2 hits with the team registering 11 hits. Calbin Gonzalez got the start on the mound. Gonzalez would go 5.2 innings, allowing 3 earned and striking out 11 batters. Elsey would also throw the remaining 1.1 innings out of the pen. He would give up just 2 hits and not allow an earned run.

 

Schoolcraft hit the road again on Tuesday traveling to Muskegon to square off against the Jayhawks in a doubleheader.
