Ocelots Winning Streak Halted At 4

PORT HURON, Mi – The Ocelots traveled to Port Huron on Saturday to square off against the 13th ranked Skippers from St. Clair County Community College.

After the 1st half of play, the Ocelots would find themselves trailing going into the locker room for the first time in MCCAA play. The 20 points the Ocelots had scored in the 1st half would be the 2nd fewest points they would have at half all year. The fewest since the 1st game of the season against Vincennes.

Schoolcraft would try to crawl back from their 7-point deficit in the 2nd half. For the 2nd half, the Ocelots would outscore the Skippers. However, it would only be a 2-point difference, not enough to make up for the 7-point halftime deficit.

The defense showed up to play for the Ocelots in the contest. For the game, Schoolcraft would hold St. Clair to just 33.3% from the field and just 56 points, the Skippers lowest output of the year. However, Schoolcraft would see the same type of difficulties on the offensive end. Despite only turning the ball over 8 times, compared to St. Clair's 16, the Ocelots would only shoot 27.1% from the field.

Mackhi Jackson led the way for Schoolcraft, scoring 20 points while shooting 7/16 from the field. Others in double-digits would include Ashton Henderson with 10 and Daniel Lee with 11 points and also tying for the team lead with 11 rebounds on his way to his 8th double double of the year. Tying Lee with 11 rebounds would be Marshall Thorn.

The Ocelots are back on the road on Wednesday, February 7, as they travel to another nationally ranked opponent. Schoolcraft will visit the 6th ranked Macomb Community College Monarchs on Wednesday looking to avenge their loss to the Monarchs earlier in the year. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30PM.
