Ocelots Downed by Hawks

DEARBORN, Mi – The Ocelots hit the road looking to sweep the season series with a Henry Ford Hawks team that was receiving votes in the latest NJCAA poll.

The Ocelots were able to find their offensive spark again after a 3-game stretch of scoring 60 or less points. The offensive effort would be lead by the bench unit. Combining for 61 points, the bench would see all 3 scorers who would reach double digit figures. Mackhi Jackson would regain his form by leading Schoolcraft with 32 points in 35 minutes off the bench. Following Jackson would be Makell Johnson-Dobbs with 15 points in 24 minutes and Noah Rainge with 12 points in 30 minutes.

The demise of the Ocelots would fall on the boards. Henry Ford would outrebound Schoolcraft by 12, including 8 more offensive rebounds by the Hawks, leading to 7 more field goals for Henry Ford.

Two Ocelots, Amare Stevens and Johnson-Dobbs would tie for the team lead in rebounds with 5. Stevens would also lead the team in assists with 4.

Schoolcraft returns to the hardwood on Saturday, February 24, as they play host to the Jets of Jackson College. In their earlier matchup, it was the Ocelots coming away with a road victory by a score of 70-58. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30PM and Saturday's game will be a Pink Zone event for the Ocelots where all fans are encouraged to wear pink to show support.
