#11 Ocelots Win Big in Top 20 Matchup

PARMA, OH – The Schoolcraft College Ocelots went on the road for a region XII ranked contest. Coming into the game, the Ocelots were ranked 11th nationally and Cuyahoga was ranked 20th nationally.

The first half favorited Cuyahoga on the scoreboard, but not necessarily in the stats. Cuyahoga got on the board first in the 16th minute. However, it would not take long for the Ocelots to knot up the score as in the 22nd minute, Tommy Mittelstadt would knot the score at one with help from Matheus Barbosa. Six minutes later, Cuyahoga would take the lead again at 2-1 in the 28th minute. The score would remain the same for the rest of the first half. Schoolcraft would have thirteen shots in the half and forced the Triceratops keeper to make six saves.

The second half saw the Ocelots come out on fire. Five minutes into the half, the 50th minute, Gavin Lamere would score his first goal of the game to tie the score at two. Lamere would not stop there, he would net two more goals over the next nineteen minutes to push the Ocelots lead to 4-2. Schoolcraft would not settle; the Ocelots would score four more goals in the last eight minutes of the game to come out on top by a score of 8-2. The goal scorers in the last eight minutes were Gavin Brose (82nd minute), Dante Davidson (86th minute), Kyle Jennings (88th minute), and Caetano Amaral (89th minute).

Brenden Ware got the start for Schoolcraft in the net and settled down after those two early first half goals. For the game, Ware saw seven shots on goal and made five saves.

The #11 Schoolcraft Ocelots are back in action on Wednesday (October 4) when they hit the road again to square off against Jackson College. The Ocelots knocked off the Jets last time the two teams faced off by a score of 3-0.
