Softball Weekend Recap

Livonia, Mich: Over the past weekend, the Schoolcraft women's softball team was finally able to get some games in at home. The Ocelots played four games over two days with, two games each against, Mott and Macomb. For the weekend, the Ocelots would tally a 1-3 record to bring their season record to 3-11.

Mott: Against Mott Community College, Schoolcraft went 0-2. Making seven total errors over the two games, the Ocelots would be outscored 25-6. In the first game, #18 Bridget Brogden would show her pop off as she would go yard, en route to a 2-3 game for her. #2 Macy Collett would join Brogden in going 2-3 on the day as Collett, would also score two runs for the Ocelots. Game two saw some more offense for the Ocelots, registering 10 total hits over the five innings. Collett, again, went 2-3 and this time, she was joined by #9 Audrey Johnson in going 2-3 for the game.

Macomb: Game 1 against Macomb was much of the same as the Ocelots saw against Mott. The Ocelots would be out-hit 13-4 in game one en route to a 8-0 loss. #8 Emily Robinson would go 2-3 in the loss, leading the Ocelots offense. Game 2 was much different for the Ocelots. In what was a pitching duel, the Ocelots were able to outlast the Monarchs, 2-1. Both teams put up a run in the first two innings, as that would be the only action until the bottom of the sixth when, #12 Paisley Stevens would hit a two out triple with #15 Kathryn Koszykowski following up with a clutch two out RBI to put the Ocelots in the lead 2-1. #3 Shannon Mosesso was the leader on the mound for the Ocelots. Mosesso went all 7 innings in the win, also tallying 3 strikouts in her effort.

The Ocelots are back in action on Tuesday (April 11) when they square off against Mott, again, at home. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3:00 PM. Softball's home field is located at Ward Church.
