Softball Sweeps DH at SC4

PORT HURON, Mi- The Schoolcraft Ocelots softball team went on the road Tuesday (April 25), to Port Huron to take on the Skippers from St. Clair County Community College. 

Game 1: Game one of the doubleheader saw plenty of offense from both sides. With a final score of 19-16, in favor of Schoolcraft, there were plenty of hits to go around. Schoolcraft wound up with 25 total hits, with 11 Ocelots getting in the action. Schoolcraft would score 6 runs in the first and second inning resulting in them leading 12-4 after 2 innings. SC4 would fight back, scoring 10 runs in the third and fourth innings to pull the game closer. The SC4 run would not be enough as Schoolcraft would do enough to pull away victorious. 7 Ocelots got multiple hits, Macy Collett (4-6), Bridget Bogden (5-6), Sarah Collins (3-6), Audrey Johnson (2-5), Kathryn Koszykowski (2-5), Madelyn Latham (2-4), and Emily Wiltsie (3-3) led the offense. Sophie Bater, Emily Robinson, Julia Cavazos, and Shannon Mosesso all tallied a hit as well. The Ocelots blasted 4 home runs in the game, Bogden, Bater, Collins, and Robinson all showed their power. 13 out of the 25 hits for the Ocelots resulted in extra bases. 

Game 2: Game two of the doubleheader saw plenty of offense against for Schoolcraft, but, not as much from the Skippers. Schoolcraft pulled out the 16-2 victory in 5 innings. Schoolcraft registered 14 hits in this game with 6 of those going for extra bases. 4 Ocelots, Collett (2), Natalie Conn (2), Collins (3), and Koszykowski (4) tallied multiple hits. Bogden, Robsinson and Kylee Wodowski tacked on a hit of their own. Natalie Conn and Sarah Collins would continue the power show from the first game and each leave the yard. Mosesso threw all 5 innings, giving up 2 earned runs and striking out 3 batters. 

The Ocelots are back in action on Wednesday (April 26) for a resumption of their April 16 game agaisnt Henry Ford in the bottom of the first.
