A Pair of Home Runs Lead Ocelot Offense to a DH Sweep

HIGHLAND PARK, MI – Due to a couple of postponements, Schoolcraft hit the road on Sunday and made the short drive to OCC for a MCCAA DH.

Game 1 – It was a quick start for OCC in game 1. After Schoolcraft was able to score 2 runs in the top of the 1st, the Raiders were quick to respond with 5 runs of their own. On top of the 5 in the 1st, OCC would add 2 more in the bottom of the 2nd to lead 7-2 after 2 innings. The Ocelots would continue to crawl their way back. Scoring 3 runs in the 6th inning, Schoolcraft now found themselves leading 8-7 with just 1 inning left. Amber Burzlaff would shut the door on the Raiders giving Schoolcraft an 8-7 victory. Burzlaff would pitch 6 innings out of the bullpen, allowing 7 hits while giving up 0 runs. 15 hits would be spread out for the Ocelots. Registering the hits for Schoolcraft would be, Savina Olada (1), Sydney Scoggins (2), Vanessa White (3), Madison Gray (2), Olivia Mikowski (2), Camryn Keough (2), Macy Collett (1), and Sarah Collins (2). Game 2 – Game 2 would prove to be all Ocelots. After scoring 1 run in each of the 1st and 2nd innings, the Schoolcraft offense would ignite for 10 runs in the top of the 3rd inning. Adding 2 more runs in the 5th, Schoolcraft would guide to a 14-4 win in 5 innings. Vanessa White would lead the offense going 4-4 including a home run.
