Bats Lead The Way To A DH Sweep

PORT HURON – With St. Clair trailing the Ocelots in the standings, this DH would loom large looking ahead to the potential playoffs.

Game 1 – It would take 3 innings but once the 3rd inning came around, the offenses would open up. Going into the 3rd inning tied at 0, Schoolcraft would put together 5 runs to jump out to a lead. That lead would grow to 9 before St. Clair could get on the board. The Skippers would put some innings together late trying to mount a comeback, but the Schoolcraft lead would prove to be too much. The top of the Schoolcraft lineup would do damage. Out of the 14 total hits, the top 6 in the order would account for 13 of them. Olivia Mikowski, Camryn Keough and Vanessa White would have 2 each. Sydney Scoggins and Amber Burzlaff lead the team with 3 while Madison Gray and Savina Olada would register 1 hit. The extra base power would be on showcase as White and Scoggins would register a double and Scoggins, Gray and Mikowski would show off their home run power.

Game 2 – Game 2 would prove to be a tight game throughout. Thru 5 innings, Schoolcraft would hold a 5-3 lead over St. Clair before the Skippers would tally 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th. Suddenly, Schoolcraft found themselves trailing by a run with just 3 outs to go. However, things would quickly change. Leading off the top of the 7th, Sydney Scoggins would go long ball to tie the game up a 6 a side. Schoolcraft would score 3 more in the inning, capped off by an Olivia Mikowski RBI double, to lead 9-6 going into the bottom half. St. Clair would score 1 in the bottom half but not enough to march another comeback.

The Ocelots are quickly back in action on Monday against Henry Ford. The first pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
