Ocelots Hold Off Raiders

The Schoolcraft Women's Basketball team (19-2, 9-2) held off the Raiders from OCC (17-7, 6-5) by a score of 58-52. Schoolcraft led 12-11 after the first quarter and never ended a quarter on the wrong side of the scoreboard. At the half, the Ocelots led 27-16. Schoolcraft would extend their lead heading into the fourth quarter by 2 points, leading 45-32. Oakland would attempt to fight back in the contest, outscoring the Ocelots 20-13 in the fourth, however, the Schoolcraft lead was too much. 

On the offensive end, it was #11 Hunter Conway leading the way, scoring 16 points on 8-17 from the field. #24 Makaiya Thomas was another Ocelot in double figures, scoring 14 points on 5-9 shooting, including 3-5 from deep. 1 other Ocelot, #12 Ruby Garner, entered double-digits as she was 3-6 from the field, including 5-10 from the free throw line. #23 Samantha Smith was a force down low. Smith registered 10 rebounds, 3 of them offensive, to go along with her 5 blocks. 

Schoolcraft returns to the court, February 22 to square off against Henry Ford College (3-21, 1-10) with tip-off at 5:30PM. Wednesday's game is sophomore night for the Ocelots. Come out and support our sophomores as they get ready to move on after their great years here at Schoolcraft!
