Ocelots down Hawks

Schoolcraft Ocelots Women's Basketball team (19-2) continued their streak by knocking off the Henry Ford Hawks (3-22). The 72-46 win gave Schoolcraft their 10th conference victory of the season. It was all Schoolcraft from the tip, Schoolcraft quickly jumped out to a 13-0 lead before the mid way mark of the first quarter. Defense was key for the Ocelots to start that run, forcing 6 Henry Ford turnovers before the Hawks were able to get a bucket. Schoolcraft would never look back, having never trailed in the game. The Ocelots led 32-21 at halftime but quickly extended their lead, leading 55-35 after 3 quarters of play. Schoolcraft extended their lead even more, closing out the game by a margin of 26 points.

3 Ocelots were in double-figures. #11 Hunter Conway, #23 Samantha Smith and #24 Makaiya Thomas posted 11,11 and 19 respectively. Thomas not only led the way on the offensive end, she also led the charge on defense getting 7 out of the teams 17 steals for the game. Smith was once again, another force down low, swatting away 3 Hawks shots and grabbing 6 rebounds. There were plenty of minutes to go around for Schoolcraft. 15 total Ocelots checked into the game. No minute was highlighted more than #3 Jekiah Mack who registered her first points on the year. #4 Eve Parrish and #11 Hunter Conway finished the night both leading the Ocelots with 8 rebounds a piece. 5 of Parrish's 8 rebounds came on the offensive end. 

The next scheduled game for the Ocelots will be televised on ESPN+ as the Ocelots travel to St. Clair to take on the Skippers (17-9, 8-3). In their last matchup, the Skippers defeated the Ocelots 75-68. Tip-off for the game will be at 5:30 PM.
