Ocelots Push MCCAA record to 4-0 with victory over SC4

LIVONIA, Mi- The Schoolcraft Ocelots women's soccer team was able to push their conference record to 4-0 with a 4-1 victory over St. Clair County Community College.

Over the whole game, the Ocelots were the ones who set the tone. Schoolcraft had much of the possession time early and often even though the Skippers would get a bounce to go their way that put them in behind the defense alone to take the 1-0 lead in the 25th minute. However, eleven minutes later, in the 36th minute, Schoolcraft would finally be able to capitalize on one of their chances as Paige Stephens would get a shot to trickle past the keeper and across the line to tie the game at one. Six minutes later, in the 42nd minute, Stephens would be fouled in the box and would knock the PK in off the keeper's hand to score her second goal of the half and put the Ocelots up 2-1. Schoolcraft would put up twelve total shots in the first half with ten of them being on goal.

The second half was no different. Schoolcraft would continue to make their runs and get plenty of chances to score. The second half saw the Ocelots with eleven shots with eight of them on net. In the 71st minute, Kyra Brandon would join in on the goal scoring putting Schoolcraft up 3-1. Just six minutes later, in the 77th minute, Brandon would score again to extend the Ocelots to their 4-1 lead. Jami Martindale would save two shots in the second half.

Overall, Schoolcraft would have twenty-three shots with eighteen of them being on net. Brandon would lead the Ocelots in shots and shots on goal with all seven of her shots being on goal. Stephens would pitch in five shots with four being on goal. Other Ocelots with shots were Kihana King (1), Isabela Grande (1), Ashley Hughes (1), Brynn Riley (2), Bri Waranauckas (1), Victoria Kebbe (2), Daniela Alvarez (1), Ileanna Zuniga (1), and Samantha Guciardo (1). Brynn Riley would lead the team with three assists and Claire Edgerton, Ileanne Zuniga and Samantha Guciardo would each have one assist of their own.
