#7 Ocelots Keep Their Winning Ways

BATTLE CREEK, MI – The Schoolcraft College Ocelots went on the road for a region XII ranked contest. Coming into the game, the Ocelots were ranked 7th nationally and Kellogg was ranked 19th nationally.

Things got started early for the Ocelots, Bri Waranauckas got the game started in the 6th minute when she netted her second goal of the season. That would be all the scoring for the first half as the Ocelots would muster five total shots for the half.

The second half would continue the way most of the first half was, scoreless. However, in the 70th minute, Kellogg would catch a break and capitalize on a penalty kick they were awarded. With twenty minutes to play in this ranked matchup, the score was tied. Ten minutes later, Schoolcraft would break through. Bella Elliot would put the Ocelots in the lead on a cross into the box from Samantha Guciardo. Jami Martindale, the starting keeper for the Ocelots, would keep the Bruins off the board for the last ten minutes to secure the Ocelots win.

Jami Martindale would get her twelfth win of the year by route of making five saves throughout the game.

#7 Schoolcraft is back in action on Wednesday (October 4) as they hit the road again to Jackson College. The Ocelots defeated the Jets by a score of 2-0 the last time the two teams squared off.
