#7 Schoolcraft Defeats Jackson

JACKSON, Mi- The #7 ranked Ocelots women's soccer team went in the road to square off against a conference foe in the Jackson College Jets.

The first half would see most of the action for this game. The Ocelots would get started quickly when Ashley Hughes would get the scoring kicked off in the 4th minute of the game with help from Paige Stephens. Just eleven minutes later in the 15th minute, Stephens would push the Ocelot lead to 2-0 with help from Daniela Alvarez. Schoolcraft would hold that lead until the 32nd minute when Jackson would get on the board to trim the Schoolcraft lead to one. Jackson would outshoot the Ocelots by a total of 7-4 in the first half with both keepers having to make two saves each.

The second half would not see any change in the scoreboard. Schoolcraft would keep the pressure on the Jets, having eight shots in the second half to Jackson's three. Schoolcraft would be forced to make two saves compared to Jackson's one save.

Jami Martindale got the start in the net for the Ocelots, earning her nation leading 14th win of the season. Martindale would make three saves on four total shots.

Th #7 ranked Schoolcraft Ocelots are back in action on Monday (October 9) as they hit the road once again to square off against the St. Clair County Skippers. Kick-off is slated for 4:00PM in Port Huron.
